SCIENCE-

  • WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY---
    • Get READY FOR THE BOILING POINT LAB!

    • WEDNESDAY- we did a practice run of the lab without fire!!

    • THURSDAY- we actually DID the lab WITH FIRE!!

  • FRIDAY- we shared data and graphed our results. 

  • MONDAY- We finished graphs and began working on BP conclusions!!

  • HW- BP Graph & Conclusion due WEDNESDAY 9/30!!!

  • LAB DAY FRIDAY 10/2-----
    • No----

      • long sleeves
      • open-toed shoes
      • dangly jewlery
      • gum/food/drink
      • AND you must tie hair back!!!!

Graphing Checklist--

  • have a title that represents your data
  • have an x-axis label with units
  • have a y-axis label with units
  • have a key if there is more than 1 set of data
  • have the scale (#s) increasing equally on the axes
  • place zero at the x and y intersection (except when plotting negative numbers)
  • label the IV and DV
  • always use graph paper (unless computer generated)
  • must use a straight edge/ruler

  • Today, students went to google classroom (classroom.google.com) to find their announcement for today's assignment- they are going to a website called Educanon.com and following directions there to watch 4 different videos, and answer questions, etc while watching.
  • Videos are on the following physical science concepts-

    • solubility

  • Warm-up- 
    • We did a physical science pre-assessment!
    • We finished the shaving cream lab from yesterday, see link from yesterday!
  • Students then did a self-evaluation of their notebooks, the rubric was delivered via google classroom!!!!!
  • We then clicked on the following google form link and responded to the questions.
  • We then defined the 8 vocabulary words reviewing learning from last year IN our notebooks #7 using the foldable linked HERE!!
    • matter, solid, liquid, gas, particles, mass, volume, density

      • Students had 10 more minutes to FINISH lab safety bumper sticker packet!
      • They then worked in groups, to ACT OUT one of the lab safety rules! Link to Rules HERE!

      • Students presented their lab safety skits!!!

    • Link to SAFETY QUIZ PRACTICE- quizlet.  Complete the flash cards, games, and test activities

      • HW- LAB SAFETY TEST FRIDAY- reflect on your bumper sticker packet and the rules on one page (from the skits), linked above!! You must pass this test with a 2.5 or higher in order to do our first lab next week! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!
